The women's basketball team fell to the El Camino College Warriors 68-74 on Friday evening in the Hall of Champions. With the loss, the Vikings drop to 16-10 overall and 3-3 in the South Coast Conference. During the game, the Vikings and the Warriors exchanged the lead six times and tied the game up three different times.
The Vikings kicked-off the game with a three pointer from sophomore guard Doylebonet Walker. Walker continued to be a threat on the court with totaling 28 points for the Vikings and going four-for-seven in three point attempts.
Jada Haynes was also successful offensively with 19 points and five assists. The team totaled 29 rebounds with Julia Ochoa, Esther Franks, Brittnay McDaniel and Janay Wellington all owning five at the rim.
In the fourth quarter, the Vikings were only down by five points. Walker scored another three pointer to decrease the lead to only one point, but the Warriors persevered and sealed the South Coast Conference win.
The Vikings will play again on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at LA Southwest at 5 p.m.
