LBCC to host memorial service for former head coach Bill Fraser on June 15

A memorial service to celebrate the life of former Long Beach City College men's basketball coach Bill Fraser will be held on Sunday, June 15 at the LBCC Hall of Champions Gym. Fraser passed away on April 18 at the age of 85. He served as head coach of the Vikings from 1973-90 and at the time of his retirement was the college's all-time winningest coach.

Former Long Beach City College guard Ashton Edwards has signed his National Letter of Intent and will continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Alaska Fairbanks this coming fall.

Vikings get No. 16 seed for SoCal playoffs, will host No. 17 Santa Ana

The Long Beach City College men’s basketball team has received the No. 16 seed and will host No. 17 Santa Ana College on Wednesday (Feb 26) at 7 pm in a first-round 2014 CCCAA Southern California Regional playoff game.

Long Beach City College shot just 36 percent from the field but made crucial free throws down the stretch to hold on for a 63-57 non-conference win over visiting Santa Barbara City College on Friday. Sophomore Kristien Owens came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points.
