The Long Beach City College men's basketball team defeated the Riverside City College Tigers 79-70 on Thursday evening in the Hall of Champions. With the win, the Vikings advance to 3-1 overall.
Sophomore guard Jace Bass led the team with 27 points and had six rebounds, three assists and two steals for the game. Sophomore guard Kester Ofoegbu was also on top with 15 points and had six rebounds and four steals. Freshman forward Matthew Schmidt was a force at the net with seven rebounds and had one block for the Vikings.
The Vikings powered through the game with ease as they led the Tigers in field goals, rebounds and three pointers. The Vikings had the largest lead of 24 points towards the end of the game to seal the 79-70 win over Riverside.
The men's basketball team will play again on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. against Golden West College.
