The Long Beach City College men's soccer team fell 5-0 on the road to Norco College on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite the loss, the Vikings created chances throughout the match, recording 12 shots with three on target. Freshman Luke Garza led the offensive push with a team-high four shots, while midfielder Joshua Grado added two attempts, including one on frame, before receiving a yellow card. Julian Zarate also notched a shot on goal to keep pressure on the Mustangs' defense.
Defensively, the Vikings worked to stay organized, but Norco capitalized on its opportunities to pull away.
"This game showed us what we need to work on," said Director of Soccer Operations and Head Coach Jorge Reyes. "It puts the responsibility back on the coaches to ensure our message is being received. Back to the drawing board."
Long Beach will look to bounce back quickly as they return home Friday to host San Bernardino Valley at 2 p.m.
