The Vikings men's and women's swim and dive teams made a strong statement at the 2024 South Coast Conference Championships
The Long Beach City College men's and women's swim and dive teams made a strong statement at the 2024 South Coast Conference (SCC) Championships, both finishing second overall in team standings behind Mt. San Antonio College.
On the women's side, the Vikings totaled 818 points to secure a solid second-place finish, outpacing third-place El Camino by over 400 points. Highlighting the performance was Lilia McAllister, who claimed the SCC title in the 1-meter dive with a winning score of 162.20.
In the men's competition, Long Beach racked up 720.5 points, securing their runner-up finish in a highly competitive field. The Vikings had standout performances in the pool and on the board, led by Nathaniel D'Aloisio, who captured first place in both the 100 and 200 butterfly events, and Louis Hackett, who took home the SCC championship on the 1-meter board with 129.15 points.
"I am incredibly proud of our Long Beach City College Swim and Dive team for earning second place at the South Coast Conference Championship," said Director of Aquatics Bradley Adamson. "This achievement is a testament to the hard work, resilience, and team spirit that defined our season. A special shoutout to Nathaniel D'Aloisio for breaking the school record in the 200 IM, and to Alexis DeAlba for topping her own record from last season in the 200 Breaststroke; your dedication continues to raise the bar for Viking Athletics. We're excited to carry this momentum into the State Championship in Santa Rosa next week.
With momentum on their side, both Viking squads now set their sights on the 3C2A State Championships, scheduled for May 1–3 at Santa Rosa Junior College.
