Vikings Dominate in 8-0 Shutout Over Fullerton
The women’s soccer team blanked Fullerton College 8-0 last Friday afternoon.
The Long Beach City College women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance on Friday afternoon, blanking Fullerton College 8-0 at home.
Sophomore forward Lorena Moreno led the way with an incredible four-goal outing, including back-to-back strikes in the first half to put the Vikings in control early. Moreno added two more in the second half, both assisted by Kiana Moore, who finished with a goal and two assists of her own.
The offensive surge continued as Sky Demelo scored in the 55th minute off a setup from Estrella Jimenez, who later added a goal of her own in the final minutes with help from Natalia Huerta. Brisa Medina also found the back of the net late, assisted by Angelina Garibay, capping off the eight-goal performance.
The Vikings outshot the Hornets 33-1, keeping constant pressure on their defense. Goalkeeper Mary Valenzuela secured the shutout with one save in the full 90 minutes.
With the win, Long Beach continues to build momentum as they prepare for their next road test. The Vikings will travel to East Los Angeles College on Monday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m.
