The Long Beach City College women's soccer team continued its impressive run through conference play with a commanding 6–0 victory over Compton College on the road Tuesday afternoon.
The Vikings (13–1–0, 5–0–0 conference) were relentless from the opening whistle, scoring twice in the first 20 minutes and never looking back. Freshman midfielder Maya Sanda led the way with a hat trick, netting goals in the 13th, 19th, and 52nd minutes. Lorena Moreno, Sky Demelo, and Estrella Jimenez each added goals as Long Beach extended its winning streak to five matches.
Demelo had a standout all-around performance, recording one goal and two assists, while Moreno finished with a goal and two assists of her own. Charlotte Grace and Isabella Meneses also contributed assists as the Vikings outshot Compton 31–0 and earned 10 corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Mary Valenzuela secured her seventh shutout of the season, as the Vikings' defense held Compton without a single shot on goal for the full 90 minutes.
The win marks another dominant outing for a Long Beach team that has now outscored its opponents 20–0 in conference play.
The Vikings will look to stay perfect in conference play when they host Cerritos College on Friday, October 24, at 4 p.m.
