Women's Water Polo's Brightenburg Stuns the Mounties with Four Goals
The women's water polo celebrated their first win of the 2018 season with a 13-7 stunner against the Mount San Antonio Mounties on Wednesday afternoon.

The women's water polo celebrated their first win of the 2018 season with a 13-7 stunner against the Mount San Antonio Mounties on Wednesday afternoon. This was the Vikings' first game of the season.
Freshman Sydney Brightenburg was the offensive star in the pool by leading the Vikings with four goals. She scored two in the first and second quarter. She was unstoppable against the Mountie defense throughout the game.
Freshman Samantha Martinez threw three goals in the back of the Mounties' net and also had a steal. Freshmen Alejandra Villa and Lauren Westphal smashed two goals each for the Vikings and freshmen Julia Mangandi and Karissa Qualley all scored one goal each.
Sophomore goalkeeper Cam Rosas was a wall in the cage and tallied nine saves for the Vikings.
Women's water polo will play again at home on Wednesday, Sept. 12 against LA Trade Tech at 3 p.m.
