Cross Country Goes to Tri-State Challenge

The Long Beach City College men's and women's cross-country teams put together strong performances this past Friday at the Tri-State Challenge in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Women's Race – 5K
The Viking women secured a 3rd place team finish, highlighted by two top-10 individual performances.
- Itzel Aguilar turned in a career day, placing 3rd overall with a personal best time of 19:37.
- Nikie Costa also stepped up, crossing the line 5th overall in a season-best time of 20:07.
Both Aguilar and Costa's efforts gave the Vikings a solid scoring presence at the front of the pack and momentum heading into the second half of the season.
Men's Race – 8K (5 miles)
On the men's side, the Vikings claimed a 4th place team finish against a competitive field.
- Ethan Garcia led the way, running a strong race to place 7th overall with a personal best time of 26:20.05, showing marked improvement from his performance the previous week.
Garcia's top 10 finish helped anchor the team in the standings, building confidence for the weeks ahead.
