Bio

Ashley Rippeon serves as the Athletic Coordinator at Long Beach City College, where she leads the Game Plan Student-Athlete Success Program. With more than 14 years of experience in collegiate athletics, Ashley has built a career dedicated to advancing student-athlete success through academic support, eligibility and compliance, leadership development, and holistic student services.

Since joining LBCC in 2022, Ashley has overseen the continued growth of the Game Plan program, providing comprehensive academic support to more than 500 student-athletes each year. She leads initiatives focused on academic success coaching, supervised study hall, eligibility certification, priority registration, educational planning, transfer support, textbook lending, and student wellness. Through collaboration with coaches, faculty, counselors, and campus partners, she works to ensure every student-athlete has the resources and support needed to succeed both academically and athletically.

Prior to LBCC, Ashley spent six years in Athletic Compliance at Orange Coast College, where she managed student-athlete eligibility and institutional compliance while supporting coaches and athletic administrators in navigating California Community College athletic regulations.

Ashley began her collegiate athletics career at Frederick Community College, where she served in multiple leadership roles, including Head Volleyball Coach, Interim Athletic Coordinator, and Sports Information Director. During her coaching tenure, she led the volleyball program to unprecedented success, earning 2015 Maryland JUCO Coach of the Year, NJCAA Region XX Coach of the Year, and District H Coach of the Year honors after guiding the program to its first conference championship, first national tournament appearance, and the winningest season in school history. As Interim Athletic Coordinator, she oversaw eligibility, scheduling, coach development, athletic operations, and strategic initiatives that strengthened departmental processes and student-athlete support.

Ashley is passionate about building innovative, data-informed programs that remove barriers to student success and create equitable opportunities for all student-athletes. Her work centers on preparing students not only to compete at a high level but also to graduate, transfer, and develop the leadership, confidence, and life skills necessary for long-term success.

Ashley believes the community college experience extends far beyond the playing field. Her mission is to ensure every Viking student-athlete leaves Long Beach City College with the knowledge, support, and opportunities to thrive in their academic, professional, and personal pursuits.
