After more than three decades of leadership, Long Beach City College (LBCC) Head Baseball Coach Casey Crook has announced that the 2025 season will be his final year at the helm of the Vikings baseball program.
Since taking over in 1994, Coach Crook has become a cornerstone of California community college baseball, finishing his 32-year career with an impressive overall record of 728-547-7. Under his guidance, LBCC consistently competed at the highest levels, becoming a perennial contender in the South Coast Conference and across the state.
"Coaching baseball at LBCC has been incredibly rewarding," said Crook. "I've loved the game and the competition, but most of all, I've cherished the relationships—with players, colleagues, and opposing coaches. The dedication and loyalty of my assistant coaches have meant the world to me—I owe them more than I can ever repay. The outpouring of support I've received recently has been humbling, and it reaffirms that every moment was worth it. Still, I know it's time. Time for new energy, new leadership, and a bright future for this program. I'm excited to watch it grow, especially with plans for a new facility in the coming years. I want to thank the college, the athletic department, my wife Marie, our three boys, and every coach and player who's been part of this journey. God bless."
LBCC Athletics will begin the search for an interim head baseball coach in the near future.
