Vikings Drop Conference Game to Pasadena, 8-5
The Long Beach City College baseball team fell to Pasadena City College 8-5 on Thursday afternoon.
The Long Beach City College baseball team scored five runs in the sixth inning to get back into the game but ultimately fell to Pasadena City College 8-5 on Thursday afternoon at the LBCC BSB Complex.
Pasadena broke through in the third with a run, then put together a big fourth inning, scoring four runs to take control. They added another run in the fifth to extend the lead to 6-0.
The Vikings responded in the bottom of the sixth with their only scoring of the day. Myles Fendrick led off with a single and later scored, and Garret Rodriguez followed with a hit to help set the table. Eshua Desai drove in the first run with an RBI single before Carson Slager delivered a two-run triple to cut the deficit to 6-3.
Later in the inning, Enrique Lopez brought in a run with a sacrifice fly, and Ben Howard added an RBI single to pull Long Beach within 6-5.
Pasadena answered in the eighth with two more runs to extend the lead and held the Vikings scoreless over the final three innings.
At the plate, Aaron Mingo led the way with two hits and a run scored, while Ben Howard added two hits and an RBI. Carson Slager drove in two runs with his triple, and Eshua Desai and Enrique Lopez each added an RBI.
The Vikings will return to action on March 28 at Pasadena City College, with first pitch set for 12 p.m.
