After giving up a run in the first inning, the Vikings responded in the second when Haleigh Jacobs delivered an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1.
Long Beach took control in the third, scoring seven runs to break the game open. Zara Mineo drove in two runs with a double, Ella Haugo added a two-run double of her own, and Haleigh Jacobs continued her strong day with another RBI double. The Vikings capitalized throughout the inning to take a commanding lead.
The Vikings added two more runs in the fifth to seal the win. Noelie Guerrero provided the highlight of the inning with a two-run home run after entering as a pinch hitter.
At the plate, Zara Mineo finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Haleigh Jacobs went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Ella Haugo helped her own cause with two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Noelie Guerrero added two RBIs with her home run.
In the circle, Ella Haugo was dominant, tossing a complete game while allowing just four hits and one run, striking out three.
The Vikings will return to action on March 27 at home against Southwestern College, with first pitch set for 12 p.m.
