LBCC Women’s Water Polo Stays Unbeaten With Conference Win

The No. 1-ranked Long Beach City College women's water polo team continued its dominant season with a commanding 22-2 victory over East Los Angeles College on Wednesday afternoon at Monte Nitzkowski Aquatics Center. With the win, the Vikings improve to 15-0 overall and 3-0 in South Coast Conference play.

Madalyn Barley powered the offense with a game-high six goals and two assists, while Jovana Bogosavljevic added five goals and four steals. Avery White turned in an all-around performance, tallying three goals and five assists. Alyssa Artist (2 goals, 3 assists), Leslie Vargas (1 goal, 2 assists, 2 blocks), and Carolyn Kao (2 goals, 2 assists) also made strong contributions on the scoresheet.

In the cage, starting goalkeeper Marlene Isaacson was perfect through two quarters with six saves, while Hailey Suttle closed the game with six more stops.

The Vikings will now shift focus to tournament play as they travel north for the Delta College Tournament, opening against Delta College on Friday, Oct. 3.
